The Holly

Cherry, walnut, and whiskey—with an herbal twist. Created by Ellie for Heirloom Whiskey Month 2023, The Holly pairs Heirloom American Whiskey with Alba Thistle Liqueur, cherry syrup, and two kinds of bitters. There’s plenty to explore in this rich whiskey cocktail, but making it is simple: just stir, strain, and settle in.

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz Heirloom American Whiskey

• 1 oz Alba Thistle Liqueur

• 1/2 oz cherry syrup

• 3 dashes walnut bitters

• 1 dash Peychaud’s bitters

Garnish: Orange coin

Glassware: Rocks glass

Instructions

1. Add the Heirloom American Whiskey, Alba Thistle Liqueur, cherry syrup, and both bitters to a mixing glass.

2. Add ice and stir until well chilled.

3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

4. Garnish with an orange coin.
